Lead flight instructor at the Unmanned Safety Institute
Ken is a part 107 and 61 certified pilot. A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with over 1,000+ hrs of manned flight time and 20+ years as a certified pilot, Ken brings this broad knowledge of the Manned Aviation Industry over to the Unmanned Aviation sector. Although Ken was building and operating remote control ground vehicles with FPV equipment since the early 2000s, he first began his unmanned aviation career in 2015 while operating under the 333 exemption. As an owner/operator and contractor, Ken has worked in a wide variety of Unmanned Aviation operations. From Disaster Response after Hurricane Michael in Panama City, Florida to collecting data and producing 3D models of new construction, cinematography, utilities inspection, solar panels and more. In 2016 Ken become a certified USI Safety Level 1 instructor, and in early 2020 became the full-time Lead Instructor for the company. With 500+ hours of unmanned flight time on various airframes and flight controllers, and 5+ years in unmanned operations, management, production, etc, Ken has seen many Unmanned Operations from the inner workings, a great perspective to have. He currently lives in the panhandle of Florida with his wife and two dogs, with a conveniently short drive to the local airfield.
